The start of a new season is one of my favourite times of the year here in Belfast. We are very lucky to have an amazing fashion following for such a wee city. Thank you to Cathy Martin and West Coast Cooler we have our very own fashion week event each season and it is by far my favourite event of the year.
With each West Coast Cooler Fashion Week I have attended (this will be my third) the audience has increased, the venues have become more epic and the styling more high fashion than ever. One of my favourite events last season was the Lavazza Style Brunch, this event was hosted by Cathy Martin and 4 local stylists who created the most amazing couture looks using all vintage or high street and customised pieces. It was such an inspiration to me and I loved every moment.
This season fashion week is moving to the stunning St Anne's Cathedral in the very cultural cathedral quarter, I know this will be the most fantastic fashion week so far.
To get us all pumped up for the Autumn Winter season, Cathy invited local press, bloggers and photographers to the fashion week launch party last Thursday lunchtime. As expected The Bullit Hotel was a stunning location for such a sophisticated event. It was bigger and bolder than ever and the perfect setting for Belfast's oh so chic fashionistas.
The event hosted Belfast's most stylish socialites and influencers, I must say, they were all dressed to impress.

After a bit of mingling and style spotting, it was time to get on with the main event, the catwalk talk! Like always Cathy had put together fashion forward and trend led looks to inspire us all.
Here are some of my favourite looks and trends from the show.
One of my favourite trends of this season is feathers, fur and fringe. This trend screams all things fussy, fun and feminine. It is gloriously glamorous and can be worn in so many ways and with so many unique takes. From 50's inspired elegance to fun and funky. You can take this ladylike look anywhere this season, don't be afraid to mix it up and play with it. Be loud and proud and enjoy the fancy fantasy.
I adore a bold colour statement and that's why this season I will be repping the red all the way. For every skin tone there is a shade of red that will give you a glow and wearing it top to bottom will create the ultimate impact when you walk down the street. That's right, all eyes on you my ladies! I can't wait to style this trend with some of my favourite wardrobre staples. Red is such a classic colour every year trust me you will get plenty of wear out of those new red purchases. So go and invest!
The metallics, sequins and glitter on Cathy's catwalk got me very excited for what's to come at the Belfast Fashion Week Shows in October. This little taster of glitzy looks were young, vibrant and edgy! Mixing textures and teaming each look with trainers for a more street style approach. I can't wait to get glammed up and glittery this season.
So after another promising launch from Belfast's Queen of Style, I can not wait to attend another season of this epic event! I am visualizing and planning outfits as I write!
Belfast Fashion Week runs from the 26th - 30th October. For more information on the show schedule and to purchase tickets just visit http://www.belfastfashionweek.com/
